Hook

If you're eight, you should already be in bed by 8:30 PM. If you're nine, 8:45 PM means you can almost finish the movie. Once you hit 10, 9:00 PM feels fair for school nights. At 11, 9:15 PM feels solid, but most kids still want more. If you're 12, 9:30 PM already feels like real freedom. At 13, finally getting 10:00 PM feels amazing. If you're 14, 10:30 PM feels strong for weekdays. At 15, 11:00 PM is where parents slowly stop checking. If you're 16, 11:30 PM feels super fair. And at 18, midnight basically means full freedom. If you're 19, hitting the sack at 12:30 AM marks the true beginning of adulting and managing your own clock. At 20 and beyond, 1:00 AM becomes the new normal because the reality that no one is coming to tell you when to sleep has fully set in.
