Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
My dad retired five years early and my mom has not worked for the past 25 years. And this is everything they taught me about money that I think you should know. Number one, if the stock market is down, buy the dip!! Always have a little cash on hand so that you can participate in the sale. Two, not all debt is bad debt. I talked about this before, but anything less than 5% should be invested. Anything above 7% should be paid off ASAP. And anything between there, 5 to 7%, can kind of be your decision based on your age. If you're young, it's probably best to invest. Three, always negotiate. My dad has this shirt that says "I'm Ed" on it. My parents friends got him this shirt as a joke because he always gets something his way. And the only explanation they can come up with is because he's Ed. Spoiler alert, it's because he always asks. He always asks for a job, a house, a car. You will always get something better than the first offer as long as you negotiate. And if you watch the video I posted yesterday, there's your proof right there. In fact, it's a running joke in our family. He's already getting everyone "I'm Ed's son," "I'm Ed's wife," "I'm Ed's friend," "I'm Ed's brother." "I'm Ed's blank" so that they can use his superpower too. Four, refinance whenever you can. This is typically for a mortgage, but if you have student loans or a car, you can always look at these options as well. Lowering your interest rates is one of the best ways to build wealth. And lastly, number five, my parents always taught me that money isn't everything. Your relationships are. Invest it and be generous with it, and the rest will fall into place. If you have any questions for them, I will text them for you.
