I purposely asked for a credit line increase on one of my cards, knowing I was going to get denied because I already got one a few weeks ago. Because everyday people say they don't get denied, and that's simply not true. Every time you apply for a credit card, loan, credit limit increase, the lender is required to tell you exactly the reason why you got denied. And sometimes it is very vague. Sometimes it's instant, an email, sometimes you'll get in the mail, a few days later. But you'll always get a reason why you got denied. And even like, could possibly be very vague, have important information. And this is for credit scores, changing, new accounts being reported. You apply for a credit card or approved, a hard pull, you'll always get a notification. The problem is almost never that you weren't told, but you probably haven't read it or you're having finding where to read it. So before you say I don't know what happened, check your mail. Check your email and credit monitoring app so you can statement or notification you at.
