So Japanese beetle we all know and hate most of us Not native to North America considered an invasive pest What I want you to do though is see where he's already done some damage As soon as the beetles start to chew on the plant a chemical gets emitted that attracts all the other beetles to this plant So not only do we need to just knock these off into soapy water but the damaged tissue we want to just come in here and snip this off We don't want to attract any more Okay That goes for your roses So this is why it's important Mark your calendar every year When do they normally come out by me And then I got to go out and do my daily inspections with my tea and my coffee And as soon as you see them starting you need to get this off of here Okay? Then as a new guy shows up and he's foraging around and you see a new guy, knock him off Soapy water. Soap just breaks the tension so the bug actually doesn't sit on the surface and goes in the water And drown him And then get all the damaged tissue off, okay? This is making the problem worse and attracting I did not know that Usually these guys are not going to kill a plant if your plant is healthy and this eggplant is a mature size a little bit of holes is not killing anything Same with your rose shrubs I know they're annoying but they are just cosmetic but they are just cosmetic If they are killing your plant that's because your plant was already weak and they've come in to attack your plant
