If your skin looks like this or this and your breakouts are recurring, super irritated, and never seem to end, stop treating your acne. The keyword is treating. I used to only react to my breakouts when they happened and I only got my skin clear when I also focused on prevention and aftercare. Breakouts that never stop are a cycle. The actual causes are excessive oil that clogs your pores and builds up dead skin, followed by inflammation. So you'll want to target all of these things when you're trying to clear your skin. An ingredient that I'm always recommending that can do all of those things is azelaic acid. I've tried a lot of azelaic acid serums, but this one is SKIN1004 Azelaic Acid 10%. I love the ingredients in this one because it makes azelaic acid even better. They boosted it with azelaic acid derivatives that help to target all stages of the acne cycle, including what I mentioned before, prevention and aftercare. There's one% PDR that reduces the look of redness and acts as an antioxidant, which really helps during the breakout phase. It is fungal acne safe, hydrating, lightweight, and not pasty, and the active ingredients are encapsulated for enhanced stability and absorption. Now in the last phase of the acne cycle, when your breakout eventually starts leaving a mark, either PIE or PIH, you guys know from me that azelaic acid helps with that too. This serum supports that further by adding in as like a name and DMA to give brighter looking skin and improve the look of dark spots and post-acne marks. So it's more focused on giving you even brighter looking skin. Also, so many of you guys have problems with niacinamide and can't use other azelaic acid serums. This one is niacinamide free, which I am so happy about, which literally brings it to the top of my list. Possibly my favorite OTC azelaic acid formula to keep acne-prone skin in check.
