How to Study 101 How to Structure Your Days

If I had to start engineering school all over again, this is exactly how I would structure my studying. Make sure to favor this video for next semester. The first thing that I would do is actually focusing on absorbing the material while I'm still in class. Do not focus on taking really pretty notes. That does you no good if you're just blindly copying down what the professor is saying. You need to be actively engaged so that you can ask questions while the lecture is still going on. Right after class, I would head straight to the library. Do not head back to your dorm. You're gonna get distracted, you're gonna want to sleep, you're gonna want to talk to your roommates. Go to the library right after class and eventually this will become a habit. Once I actually sit down to study, I will read over the notes from class. This will take around 15 minutes per class. Then I would attempt any homework that was assigned that day. Do your homework the day it is assigned. Except on that, I would try to go back and reread examples or anything from the textbook to reattempt the questions. I would not look at the solutions. Looking at the solutions before you actually know what's going on and just blindly copying that down is going to gaslight you into thinking you actually understand the material. And then I would circle the ones I'm still not sure of and plan to attend office hours that week. And then once office hours, I would try to reattempt those same problems, trying to fully understand it rather than just copying down the solution. Then I would make flashcards or a one pager for any concepts you want to remember. Review regularly. You do not want to make flashcards a week before your exam. So you already have a stack to review when it comes time for the exam. And then lastly, I would make a wrong problems list. And this houses every single problem that I've gotten wrong for a particular class and the topic associated. So that I have my deficiencies, I need to
