God doesn’t want His children trapped in fear or constant lack. While every financial situation is different, Scripture reveals spiritual attitudes that can keep us from walking in His provision. 1. Distrusting God Many believers pray, but still rely more on their own understanding than on God’s promises. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5 (KJV) 2. Relying on Yourself Instead of God When we believe our success depends only on our own ability, we forget that every good gift comes from Him. “But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth.” — Deuteronomy 8:18 (KJV) 3. Laziness God blesses diligent hands. Faith is never an excuse for avoiding hard work. “The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.” — Proverbs 13:4 (KJV) 4. Envy Comparing yourself to others steals your peace and distracts you from God’s unique plan for your life. “A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.” — Proverbs 14:30 (KJV) 5. Greed When money becomes our master, we lose sight of the true treasure found in Christ. “For the love of money is the root of all evil.” — 1 Timothy 6:10 (KJV) 6. Fear Fear keeps many people from obeying God, giving generously, or stepping into new opportunities He provides. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV) 7. Deceitfulness God honors integrity. Lasting blessing is never built on dishonesty. “A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.” — Proverbs 11:1 (KJV) The Truth Money is not our source—Jesus is. Our security, peace, and true abundance are found in Him alone. “And ye are complete in him.” — Colossians 2:10 (KJV) When Christ is enough, we are free to trust, obey, work diligently, give generously, and walk in God’s purpose for our lives.
