I sold my entire luxury handbag collection except for three. As a former shopaholic, I feel like I was constantly stuck in the cycle of chasing trends, buying things and then getting sick of that. And what finally helped me break that cycle was one, realizing that bags and items I use and love the most were timeless classic pieces, not trendy ones. So I started using a wish list where any luxury item I want has a 30 to 60-day hold period. This makes sure every purchase is not an impulse decision or based on a track. Next is a designer box just started giving me the egg. I think the prominent logo is the crazy price heights and quality of the classics made them feel less and less like a luxury to me. And I got to a point where I actually prefer my mid luxury bags that feel a lot more understated and chic. And finally, I realized I'd rather have one item I really, really love than 10 items that I'm indifferent about. So I sold almost every single bag in my collection and I haven't bought a new one in two years. I don't plan on buying any other designer bags until I can consider buying my first Hermes bag.
