It's a term that emerged in 2025 as an evolution (or parallel) to UX (User Experience) in the context of AI and autonomous agents. agentexperience.ax What is AX? UX designs the experience for human users interacting with interfaces (screens, buttons, flows, usability, etc). AX designs the experience for AI agents that act on behalf of humans. It includes how AI agents "use" products, navigating APIs, interpreting data, making decisions, etc. (e.g., your personal assistant booking travel, summarizing docs, or interacting with apps) As AI agents become common, products need to be optimized not just for people, but for the agents those people send. So that we can be discovered by people using agents. And this becomes like a new layer of products that we have in 2026. This is very, very new.
