Web Design vs UI/UX vs Product Design

Web Design, UI/UX, Product Design, which one is which? What are the differences? Let me break everything down in the simplest way possible because people still mix these things. Web Design is basically designing websites, the pages, the layout, the visuals and how everything look. When someone opens your site in a browser, it's focused on the web only. So think of landing pages, portfolios, business sites, you know, that's all web design. Now here's where people get confused. Web development is different. Development is the coding side, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, backend stuff, you know. Web developers take the design and actually build the engine behind it. So designers make it pretty, developers make it work behind the scenes. But with Framer, it's different. You're still designing, but you're also building the real website at the same time without touching code. So instead of designing in one tool and then handing it off to you are doing everything in one piece. Framer basically lets you design and develop in one piece. That's why I always tell people to switch. It saves time, it removes stress and it cuts out all the back and forth between designers and developers. UI/UX is bigger. It covers websites, but it also covers apps, dashboard software, any digital product. UI is the part you see, UX is the experience you feel. And product design, let's keep it super simple. Product design is UI/UX plus direction. So instead of thinking, how should this screen look? You're thinking, why are we building this feature? What problem are we solving? How do we make this product better over time? It's the bigger picture, the roadmap the user needs, the business goals. You're not just designing the screens, you're shipping the entire product. And that's pretty much it for the differences between web design, UI/UX design and product design. Personally, I'm a web designer.
