People on Twitter are freaking out after this guy uploaded a super viral image showing what happens when you try to do the same math problem on an Android versus an iPhone. And he wrote, "Why do the results differ between iPhone and Android?" And as you can see, the Android says the answer is 700, while the iPhone says the answer is 500. So that begs the question, which one of these phones is actually right? And first start with the Android. So the user typed in 100 + 300 * 2 and that gave us an answer of 700. So let's go check the math on this to see if it's correct. To do this equation, you're gonna have to follow a math rule called the order of operations, which says that you have to multiply first, and then you have to add. So we're gonna take 300 times two, that gives us 600. And then you add the 100, and that means that the math of 700 is actually correct. Now, let's go ahead and follow the same principle with the way that they typed it in on the iPhone, which is now 300 + 100 * 2. So 100 * 2 equals 200, plus 300 means that the math of 500 is correct from the iPhone. So while everybody in the comment section is arguing whether Apple or Samsung is correct, is both phones are correct and it's actually just an order of operations thing, because on this one he started with the 100 and this one he started with the 300.
