We didn’t expect this to happen so fast. I was in the middle of building a floating shelf and Sarah was just getting home from work. But she mentioned she’s been noticing limited movement from baby Haven, and so she called her OB and we were advised to go to triage. So we packed our hospital bags just in case, even though I kept saying it was probably nothing and we have nothing to worry about. We checked into triage and got Haven on a monitor. Her heart rate wasn’t right and we were advised to get induced if we wanted to have any chance of seeing her. Unfortunately, her heart shortly slowed down, and then had no beat at all. Sarah is being induced into labor, and it’s taking a little longer since her body wasn’t ready this early but there is progress. We hope there are no complications during the labor process. We fully trust and are thankful for the solid team around us and the prayers. We wanted to keep you guys updated, especially because there are families in the exact same shoes as us right now and we were blindsided by the limited movement this early and thought we would have at least another month. We probably won’t be able to respond quickly but we see your messages! If you have any advice on postpartum, especially from a dad’s perspective and how to navigate mama going through it, please share. We love you all and this has been a massive reminder that life is precious and shouldn’t be wasted❤️ -Alex and Sarah Kennedy #trisomy18 #pregnancy #babydelivery
