This is our inspiration pic, And to build her this floating shelf, done before. I originally said that us build this office space based with this series. a little slower than I hoped. So I'm tweaking the rules. Now every new follower adds 10 cents to her office budget. Every comment or share adds 5 cents, every like adds 2 cents. So far your engagement has raised $87.56. But then Patryk from YouTube reached out and donated $109 of his own money, which was completely unexpected. So thank you, Patrick. That brings us to $196.56 out of our $3,000 budget. I designed this shelf in 3D using SketchUp because I needed to see all the measurements before making permanent cuts. It is five feet long and should support some nice decorations to make this place feel cozy. I used half inch plywood to build the actual box and two by two wood for the center supports. To hide the edge seams and make it look like solid wood, I cut the plywood edges at 45-degree angles, then glued them together. I then filled any cracks and holes with wood filler and sanded it all down. Then I added wood conditioner, stained it and then finished with polyurethane to protect it. I mounted it 76 inches off the ground by installing the support beams first with lag screws directly into the wall studs, then sliding the half inch plywood box over it. I secured it with screws at the top because you won't see them. Again, our inspiration for this space and this is our current progress. Let you think.
