Our local sushi place charges $28 for a Korean sashimi rice bowl. . Since my family loves sashimi, I'd love to take them out more often. But for a family of five, restaurant prices add up quickly. Making it at home lets us enjoy one of our favorite meals for a lot less, and I can pack it with fresh ingredients. . And because no Korean dinner feels complete without soup, I made a simple bowl of Korean fish cake soup to go with it. . —-- ✨ Lydia's Tip I like making both a spicy and a non-spicy sauce so everyone can enjoy their bowl. Choose whichever sauce you like, or make both so everyone can enjoy their bowl their own way! —-- . ✅ Korean Sashimi Rice Bowl 회덮밥 . [Ingredients] • Cooked rice • 1/2 cucumber • 1/4 cabbage • 1/2 red onion • 0.7 lb salmon sashimi • 0.7 lb tuna sashimi • Masago (optional) . 🌶️ Spicy Sauce • 1 tbsp minced garlic • 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar • 1 tbsp gochujang • 1 tbsp sesame oil • 3 tbsp allulose . 🥢 Non-Spicy Sauce • 6 tbsp shiro dashi • 1 tbsp sesame oil • Sesame seeds . ✅ Korean Fish Cake Soup 오뎅국 . [Ingredients] • 1/5 daikon radish • 1 sheet fish cake (odeng) • 2 broth powder sticks • 1.2 L water • 2 tbsp soup soy sauce • 1 tbsp fish sauce • 1 tsp minced garlic • 1 tbsp white soy sauce • Chopped green onions . [Directions] 1. Bring water, soup stock, and daikon to a boil. 2. Add the fish cake and the remaining seasonings. Let it simmer, then finish with the chopped green onions. 3. Prepare the vegetables and mix the sauce(s). 4. Fill a bowl with rice, top with the vegetables and sashimi, drizzle with your favorite sauce, and enjoy!
