My houseplant soil recipe + repotting routine

My last repotting video I had hundreds of comments of people asking me what soil I was using. So today I went to the store, I got everything that I needed to show you guys exactly what soil I use, how much of each item and where I got it. So let's get started. The first item that I add is Miracle-Gro Potting Mix. This is for indoor and outdoor. I have had no issues. I repot all my plants with this soil. I don't know if I'm the only one that loves the smell of soil. Next thing that I add is orchid bark. By the way, I got everything that I use. I'm going to add maybe like 2/3. I'm going to add some perlite. Now this is going to be a little messy. I usually do this outside, but I wanted to show you guys how I do it. I bought 2/3 of the bag. You guys see the dust. The things I do for content. Now we're going to mix it all together. This is what it should look like now that it's all mixed together. So again, we have potting soil, orchid bark, and perlite. I got this plastic mat on Amazon. It's like a potting mat and they have tons. The first plant that I repot is a Marble Queen Pothos. This is infested with gnats. I'm going to do a whole video on gnats later. First, we take the plant out of the pot. This plant was way too big. We're going to wash it now. I'm going to spray it with castile soap water. So you throw the old soil away. This is the new planter that I'm going to use. I got this one on Amazon. It does have drainage holes at the bottom and it also came with a saucer. First, we add some soil at the bottom. Then we put the plant in. Make sure all the roots are covered. Done. Now we're going to repot a new one, which is a Philodendron Ring of Fire. I got this one at Lowe's and it was on my list of wish list plants. So I'm going to repot it and treat it. I'm going to take the Philodendron out of the pot. We take all of the extra old soil. I'm going to spray it with castile soap water. And we put in the plant. Done. Now we're going to repot plant number three. This is a Peperomia Watermelon. I have never had a Peperomia before, so I'm going to wish me luck. She looks so pretty. I'm going to clean her off. I'm going to spray it with castile soap water. And we put in the plant. Done. Now we're going to repot a Philodendron Lemon Lime, which was on my list as well. Because y'all know I love trailing plants. So, next is castile soap water. And we put in the plant. Done. This is the last one. I'm going to repot. It's a Philodendron Lemon Lime, which was on my list as well. Because y'all know I love trailing plants. So, next is castile soap water. And we put in the plant. Done. Now we're going to clean up the area. All of these are ready to be watered now. And as I told you, I'm treating some of my plants for gnats. And so what I use apart from sticky traps, I use mosquito bits. This is what mosquito bits looks like. You put four tablespoons in one gallon of water and then you water your plants and you repeat it every week or two and they should be getting rid of all the gnats. And that's it.
