Apple just sued OpenAI. And the details are absolutely wild. Apple is claiming OpenAI stole their trade secrets to build competing hardware. And listen how. Apple says over 400 of their former employees now work at OpenAI, including their chief hardware officer, a guy who spent 24 years at Apple designing the iPhone. But here's the part that's insane. Apple claims he told job candidates, people still working at Apple, to bring actual parts from Apple to their OpenAI interviews for show and tell, so they could pull more secrets out of them. And it gets worse. Another engineer allegedly kept his Apple laptop after he left, found a bug that let him access Apple's private files from inside OpenAI, and according to the lawsuit, he celebrated it. He wrote, LOL, I found out I can access the network storage. So funny. LOL. That's in a federal lawsuit right now. And here's the irony. Two years ago, Apple and OpenAI were partners. ChatGPT is built into the iPhone. Now Apple is accusing them of theft at every level. This is what happens when the AI race gets so valuable that the biggest companies in the world start turning on each other. The gloves are off.
