Why is Apple suing ChatGPT?

You know, why is Apple suing ChatGPT? Open AI. Yeah. Apple is suing open AI for a trade secret theft. Okay. Basically what we call industrial espionage for open AI slash ChatGPT trying to steal their trade secrets. So basically what happened is this. Back in 24, if anyone remembers, there was big buzz about ChatGPT being the the AI tool in a Apple device. meaning powering Siri, right? There's all this problem about Siri is an idiot. And people always asking questions like when is Apple going to get with it? So they partner with open AI apparently to use the chat GPT, you know, language models to power Siri, right? That all has changed now. two years past forward, two years later now like Apple's suing open AI. So basically what happened was when they had that partnership. Um, shortly thereafter like in early 25, uh, OpenAI hired the chief hardware person from Apple. So that tells you like, hey, I don't want to partner with the hardware company. I want to go and do it myself, right? And the big thing about Apple, why is Apple a big deal is because it's got 1.8 billion iPhone users. It's a huge amount of of a ecosystem of users in their ecosystem. Maybe only one wants access to it, right? So, what had happened in 25, is opening eye started higher like the chief designer for Apple's hardware. He they bought the startup that was was started up by the chief designer of hardware for Apple, right? So and then shortly thereafter they started hiring more people. Apple. Yeah, hiring more people from Apple. And what the lawsuits says is they're not just hiring people from Apple, they're telling them how to bring all the secrets through their laptop. top through the data, how to bring the data out when you get higher like coaching them. And that's what the lawsuit alleges that open AI is trying to not only this higher um um resources experts from Apple, but they're also trying to have them come over with the trade secrets. Because if you look at it what's happened now, Apple has said they're going to use Gemini. They're going to use Google. Google's AI now. It's going to power series, right? But as you can tell what open AI is doing now you're not only want to be in the chatbot, you know, large language model, AI world, you want to go into hardware. And this is basically if they win the case, if you read like what their allegations are, it's so straight up. They're trying to steal their their secret sauce and how they build their hardware and everything because that's what Apple is all about. It's that it's this. It's how cool is this. I think. I was working on opening I want to make phones? Not phones, they probably want to make a device of sorts. Some sort of device. It looks like that they want to make that's your, you know, that's like um, like a tool that you can use to do a lot of different things. I don't I I don't think they're trying to make mistakes. But they're trying to get into the hardware business. It's just what all companies want to partner with Apple for because this thing has a billion eight users in the world. And it's very sticky. You don't want to leave their ecosystem, everyone wants access to it. But it looks like open eyes China. Get into that business by stealing Apple's trade secrets. Okay.
