Going back to our callback & auditions but realizing it wasn't what it seemed at first

A little vlog from today because I wanted to be transparent with you guys. 🤍 If I’m being honest, I left feeling pretty bummed. Walking in, I truly believed this was an audition that would lead toward opportunities with Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, commercials, TV shows, and movies. In my mind, I thought we’d be talking about callbacks, auditions, brands, and what the next steps looked like for growing in the industry. Instead, the callback focused on which program and membership tier would be the best fit for my daughter and me. It wasn’t what I expected, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed. That said, I’m still incredibly grateful for the experience. We met some amazing people, made great connections, received wonderful feedback, and I’m thankful that we were selected for a callback in the first place. I’m also so appreciative of all the encouragement and support from my talent agency throughout this process. If anything, today reminded me that this is just the beginning. As my oldest daughter and I continue pursuing acting together, we’ll keep doing our research, asking questions, reaching out to agencies, submitting ourselves for auditions, and learning everything we can along the way. I also wanted to share this because so many people have questioned whether she even wanted to do this. The answer is yes. This is something she was genuinely excited about, and as her mom, I’ll always be her biggest supporter and her biggest protector. I’ll continue making sure every opportunity is the right one for her. Not every experience turns out the way you picture it, but every experience teaches you something.
