Here is a snapshot of the right side of my front yard. 🌿 Before & After This wasn't a weekend project. This transformation took about 2–3 months. I started this project back in April 2026, and today I can finally say my yard looks the way I've always wanted it to. I did the entire front yard and the sides. I didn't install the new Zoysia grass myself; I hired a company to do that. Everything else, I did myself. Now that the hard part is done, it's time for the maintenance phase, which will carry me through the rest of the growing season. From here, it's mostly keeping the hedges trimmed about every six weeks, cutting the grass every two weeks, and making sure it gets about an inch of water each week. Two days ago, I applied ammonium sulfate (21-0-0), so I'm looking forward to seeing the grass turn a deeper shade of green. I think Clemson recommends one more fertilizer application before fall, but I'll have to check my yard journal. I can finally say my 2026 Yard Upgrade is coming to an end. As we move into late summer, the grass and shrubs will begin slowing down. Then, in the fall, the Zoysia will go dormant and turn its straw-colored winter shade until next spring... and yes, I might cry a little. 😂 I put so much work into this yard that I'm actually going to miss being out here every day! Once the yard season ends, I will start on some of my indoor projects. I still can't believe how horrible the front yard looked...smh. My mother would be so proud of me. 💚 How much do y'all think a landscaping company would charge to do this type of job? #zoysiagrass #yardmaintenance #yardlife #lawnmaintenance #landscapedesign
