We are within the next two or three years where the content you put out, the algorithm is going to find the audience that is interested in the content itself. The social media I grew up with was more like email marketing. You had to get as many followers as you could, and then every time you posted, a certain percentage of those followers would see every post. I would actually argue we are past the social media era, so I think we're seeing the things we're interested in, not the content from people that we follow.
