Imagine you get in a time machine, go back to the past and you don't let your grandparents to meet each other. This creates a paradox known as the Grandfather Paradox. The problem is, if your grandfather never existed, then your father was never born, and as a result, you never existed. But if you never existed, then who went back in time? That's the paradox. That's the paradox. An event that causes its own non-existence. This idea was first introduced in a science fiction novel. But physicists aren't just sitting around— there are theories here exploring together. The first principle says the universe simply won't allow anything that leads to paradox. Meaning every time you try to eliminate your grandfather or not allow them to meet, something happens. Like the gun jams, your aim is off, or you target a wrong person. This idea is related to Novikov's self-consistency principle. The second idea brings quantum mechanics into the picture. When you go back in time, you enter a parallel timeline in a different universe. So the grandfather there is from that universe, not your own. That's why it neither purifies itself nor creates something like the theory of parallel worlds. But the most fascinating theory is one introduced by an Australian student named Germain Tuber, along with his professor. They show through calculations that spacetime can arrange itself so that this paradox in the first place. Meaning events replay themselves until everything aligns, without taking away your free General relativity actually allows, in some cases, for paths through spacetime to exist that might lead back to the past. Take the grandfather paradox— if you succeed and kill your grandfather on the day he was your grandmother, the theory says that in that moment, happens that brings them together and your journey finds its place. So in this way, it rewrites its own history. Now back to reality— we still don't have a time machine to go back to the past. And after time past, something strange like wormholes and negative energy would be needed, which we don't even know exist. And third, none of these solutions have been scientifically tested yet.
