Here's exactly how I'd live off of $2 million in retirement without ever running out of money. I'm Tyler. I'm a former financial advisor and portfolio manager. Now I make financial content for free so you don't have to pay for it. Number one: I'd invest 90% in VTI And 10% in Fidelity's SPAXX. Stocks and cash. This is literally Warren Buffett's estate plan. And if the greatest investor who ever lived thinks two funds is enough, then I don't think you need a 47 page allocation strategy from some guy named Bryce. Number two: now forget the 4% rule. It's outdated and it's fear based nonsense. A two million dollar portfolio drawing down only 4%. Hello buddy. And invested entirely in stocks. You can come too. Your friend went up that way. Has historically grown to about $20 million after 30 years. Congratulations, you die the richest person in the cemetery. No. 3. So say hello to the 6% rule. It's roughly $120,000 a year between VTI Distributions and the interest on the SPAXX. That's enough to actually live well and stop pretending you enjoy cooking at home every single night. No. 4. And after five years, you can even bump it to 7% because you're still projected to have more than you started with. And now you're pulling closer to $175,000 a year. No. 5. In the last eight to 10 years, I'd push it to $200k. Your portfolio is still healthy. You've spent Your entire life being responsible. So fund the trips, spoil the grandkids, and choose to go out in style. The point is this: Most retirees die with more money than they started with, and most retirees spend less every single year until they die.
