This is my second time visiting the foodie capital of the world and it was even better than I remember and here are all of my favourite pintxos spots starting with La Cuchara there will be a queue for this spot but the suckling pig is absolutely worth it next up was La Mejillonera this place you might have guessed is famous for its mussels and at EUR 5.50 a pop it's absolutely worth a visit my favourites had to be the simple lemon ones and you're supposed to throw your shells on the floor but I'm too British for that Gandarias was next and I got the txuleta skewer and the crab pintxos sadly the skewer was slightly on the chewy end if you're in San Seb it's a right of passage to go to Bar Sport for their sea urchin bisque I really love the creaminess of it and their jamon isn't bad either technically this isn't a pintxos spot but a cheesecake is a snack and it's a tasty one at that there's only so many times you have to hear someone say this but it is absolutely worth the hype Paco Bueno is where you need to go for the best battered prawns in San Sebastián and it's even better if you time it perfectly for when they're piping hot another hugely famous spot is Antonio Bar and of course we got their tortilla I simply love how jammy and caramelized the flavours are Bar Desy is another pintxos spot in the Gros neighbourhood they serve this naughty txuleta burger in a brioche bun and a rich creamy cheese sauce it's served beautifully pink and it's also worth getting a slice of their cheesecake next up was a lesser known spot serving inventive seafood focused pintxos their zamburiñas were particularly delicious and last but not least you'll kick yourself if you don't go to Ganbara their wild mushroom dish lives rent free in my head
