Did you know if you took the last update file for the PlayStation 3 and then downloaded two programs onto your computer, it would actually help you play your old PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2 games? So here's what you need to do. First up, search for PS3 system software update and go to the official PlayStation website. Once here, scroll down until you see update using a computer. Click plus, right click and click save as to actually download it. I'll be saving all this stuff into a gaming folder to make it easier to find. Next, search for PS BIOS claim tool. And this one's available on the archive. Once that's downloaded, you want to extract it to its own folder. And you can see that our PS3 update file is here too. So finally, the last piece of software you're going to need is RPCS3, which is a PS3 emulator. So now we're going to open up RPCS3. Then go to file, install firmware. Then select that update file. Then give it a second to do its thing. Now let's look at that BIOS claim tool. If we open it up and click on firmware and Windows, you can see a couple files here. Highlight both of these files and copy them. Then place them directly inside the RPCS3 folder. You can see them down here at the bottom. Once that's done, you wanna double click and run the batch file. And now you have BIOS files. Those can now be used to get you up and running with emulators like PCSX2 and DuckStation for the PlayStation 1. I hope you found this helpful.
