🙄You’re overcomplicating this. A job interview is not rocket science. Corporate hiring is biased and pretty simple and straight forward. Just do these 4 things: 1️⃣ Look good There is a strong beauty bias in hiring. Research in cognitive psychology shows that job candidates who are more attractive physically have substantially higher odds of being hired. Unfair, but true. Though you can’t control how your parents made you, you can control your clothes, hairstyle, makeup and body language. 💅🏼Wear a navy suit. Never put your hands in your lap. Get a great haircut and for the love of God, SMILE! 2️⃣ Be pleasant Couldn’t be simpler, be nice. No one wants to hire a jerk. But some people can’t help themselves and they just have to criticize, judge and nag. Don’t do that. 🤗 Be friendly and don’t be afraid to compliment your interviewer. 3️⃣ Know the right people 80% of people get jobs through their network. And that’s because hiring managers feel more comfortable hiring someone that knows one of their current employees. Hiring someone that knows someone feels safer that hiring a complete stranger. 🤝Network and ask your friends and family for help. 4️⃣ Don’t act desperate. When you act desperate and needy you push people away. When you’re not seeking you attract more opportunities. The trick is to be able to do this when you need a new job. This is scarcity principle. the limited availability of a resource or product increases its perceived value, desirability, and demand. The less you want it the more they will want you. #jobinterview #jobsearch #interviewprep #confidence
