SPEND A DAY WITH ME 23 YR OLD LIVING IN REMOTE ALASKA

Spend a day with me, a 23-year-old living in remote Alaska. We live on an island off the coast of Alaska and life is very different here. Now, we didn't just randomly up and move here. We were sent here from the military. So this is either people's dream station or worse nightmare. Today was another rainy, gloomy day, so we decided to go to one of the coffee shops that are on the water. It has this amazing view. There's basically only one small fishing town on this island. There are other villages, but they're only accessible by boat or plane. So when you go out and do things in this small town, it's inevitable that you see people. I always say it reminds me of Gilmore Girls or something where there's always a gathering place for people. Always know each other. Our previous military stations were Florida and California, and we just never had that. We ended up spotting some sea lions outside. That along with orcas, whales, or a common daily occurrence. And the most common probably being bears. Our island is actually home to the largest brown bears in the entire world. Now, this one may not look that big to you, but they're actually 5 feet tall when they're on all fours and over 10 feet tall when they stand upright. So you definitely have to be cautious when you live on an island full of them. We ended up staying out for the rest of the night to watch the bears, even though he definitely could smell the snacks in my car. And that was my day in Alaska.
