I'm back with another 30-second beading tip. How to open jump rings, or more importantly, how NOT to open jump rings. A jump ring noun is a tiny small metal ring with a tiny opening used to connect jewelry components like clasps and charms. You might use it to add your necklace or clasp to your necklace. When opening a jump ring, you do not want to pull out, pull apart X because you'll permanently ruin the ring shape, it weakens the metal. It's really hard to get it back to that round shape after this. You want to open your jump ring by twisting one hand away from you and one hand towards you to create the gap in the ring. After you've added your clasp or your charm, you'll twist it back, maintains its round shape.
