I've had a few people ask how to finish a beaded necklace. When you get to the end of it, so I'm going to show you step by step what works for me. When you reach the end of your necklace, you will need two jump rings, a crimp bead, and a crimp cover, and wire guardian, optional. But I think that they add a nice layer of polish and durability to the necklace. You'll want to start by ensuring that your necklace is completely tight against the other end of the clasp. Add your crimp bead to the wire. Next, add your wire guardian if using one. When your wire guardian is on, you'll put the end of your wire back through your crimp bead. Now that both on, you'll want to double check that everything is flush against the other end of the clasp, and make sure the wire is going through the crimp bead in a parallel pattern and not crossing. Start with the inside notch of your crimp tool. Use inside notch to pull it closer to the wire guardian before crimping down. Use outside notch to flatten it. It should look like this. While I like tucking the tail of the wire down into the beads, this piece is a little bit long, so I'm going to trim it and then tuck a smaller piece into the beads so it's hidden. It's helpful to use a pair of the pliers to tuck the wire down into the beads because it helps you guide it down the beads. For the jump rings, I like to use a smaller size to attach to the wire guardian, keeping a bigger size for to attach on your necklace. You'll take the smaller jump ring and use two pairs of pliers to push one hand away from you and one hand towards you, like ripping paper to open the jump ring. Then you'll add both the jump ring and wire guardian for twisting in opposite directions to close the ring. I've shared a video on this before, but you do not want to pull the jump ring apart. You want to twist it open. If you pull it apart, it ruins the shape of the jump ring and also impacts the integrity of the wire. The last step is to attach your last crimp cover. Now you can attach your lobster clasp to your jump ring. And both ends of the necklace are complete.
