1. ‘Pay yourself first’ rule - Instead of trying to save or invest money at the end of the month, set up a standing order to your savings account on payday. You’ll never not save money again… and it’s automatic! 2. The ‘3 Fs’ rule - Rather than tracking every penny, I track my money in percentages with the FIXED, FUTURE, FUN method. 50-60% fixed costs, 10-20% future fund (savings/investments), and 20-30% fun money 3. 3-6 month ‘life happens’ fund - Having 3 to 6 months of living expenses in a high yield savings account gives you SO much peace of mind. It helps you sleep at night and gives you more freedom with your employment 4. The 50/50 rule - Half of any unexpected money or additional income I get goes to future me. The other half goes to present me for fun stuff. 5. The screenshot method - If I see something I want to buy, I screenshot it instead of impulse buying it. If I still want it after 48 hours, I’ll buy it. But I usually just forget about it. 6. Using a credit card instead of a debit card for everyday spending - It just makes sense for things I was already going to purchase. Plus, I get rewards for it too. Make sure to pay it off in full every month!! 7. Increasing my income - Getting into content creation has 10x’d my income at times each month, so always be trying side hustles. Preferably something you’re passionate about so you don’t get sick of it! 8. Monthly money check ins - This was a game changer when I faced the reality of my spending. It’s daunting, but very worth it! Make sure to FOLLOW me for more money tips :) #moneytips #financialliteracy #moneyrules None of this is financial advice. Do your own research.
