Can we talk about all the things pregnancy has humbled me about? Because nobody prepared me for this. First of all, rolling over in bed. Why does it always feel like I'm trying to parallel park a bus every single time? It literally takes planning, momentum, and at least one sound effect. Oh, honestly, turning over in bed has become a full-blown body workout. Number two, picking things up off the floor. Oof. Listen, if I drop it, congratulations to whoever picks it up after baby's born. Number three, putting on socks and shoes. Baby, that's an Olympic sport. I literally have to manually prepare myself before attempting. And don't get me started on shaving. At this point, anything below my belly is operating on a best-of-luck policy. Number five, getting out of bed. Baby, I simply don't get up anymore. Have to roll, push, and rock myself forward and hope for the best. Oh, and getting out of the couch is no different. It literally takes the 3-point turn and a little prayer. Number six, catching a glimpse of myself walking past a mirror and catching a glimpse of my side profile. Still gets me every time. Like, baby, who's bump is that? Oh, it's mine. Number seven, peeingggg. Oh, and can we talk about how I need to pee every five minutes? When I actually sit down, it's only approximately three drops. Sneezing has also become a trust exercise. Every single time I sneeze, there's a split second where I'm like, please tell me I didn't just pee. Number nine, running out of breath. Losing my breath every time I tell a story. Absolutely humbling. Number 10, pregnancy brain. The pregnancy brain is doing its thing, baby. I will literally stand up with a purpose, walk into a room, and immediately forget why I got in there in the first place. Getting out of the car without my husband's help. I literally have to give myself a countdown. Yep. And somehow I've become one of those people who grunts when they stand up or sit down. I used to wonder why pregnant women did that. But now I can completely understand. Oh, and baby girl, out of all the things that I have, she's chosen one specific one as her personal punching bag. Every single day. She doesn't miss. But you know what? Honestly, as uncomfortable as most of these things have been, I wouldn't trade this season for anything. Every ache, every weird symptom, all the sleepless nights, and every little kick is bringing me one day closer to meeting my little girl. Now you tell me, what's the one thing that pregnancy has completely humbled you about?
