My first trimester was purely survival & surrender (and nothing like I had envisioned). Week four to six, I'm feeling good. I have a whole vision for myself. I'm going to be working out, I'm going to be eating healthy. I even bought, I can barely even say it, beef liver. That's the vision I had for myself. I envisioned myself drinking beef liver smoothies to provide for my baby's nutritional needs. Week about six, six and a half, I start to get hit with a level of nausea that I didn't know was possible. I felt like I lost control over everything in those weeks, nearly impossible to function. The things I was eating just to sustain myself and survive were not things that I would have ever put on my bingo card, right? Like I saw myself doing Pilates and drinking the beef liver smoothie, and instead I was inhaling potato chips and Jersey Mike's. You have to do what you have to do to survive. And that has been one of my biggest learnings in this very short window that I've been pregnant has been that it is not up to you and there is no way to predict what your experience is going to be.
