The reason why that girl, the plus size girl, getting air lifted from that two mile mountain hike is such a big, like, flash point for a lot of people is because fatness is the only "quote unquote" disability that people think you deserve. Any subsequent illness because of it? That's pretty much it. Like, she wasn't even air lifted off of the mountain because of necessarily her fatness, but because of heat exhaustion, which can happen to quite literally anybody. And it's not like people don't moralize other disabilities. This is kind of part and parcel with the conservative thinking that people deserve illness and disability because they're "quote unquote" bad people, undisciplined gluttons. Whatever insult you wanna choose, take your pick. This is also the reason why you see people saying, oh, give Celine Dion suffering to Donald Trump. Disabilities seen as a weapon, an inherently bad thing, therefore you get to moralize it and put it onto somebody else as a punishment for who they are or what they are or not doing. But disability illness is always neutral, and you can dislike your own disability. You could disdain disability, but the state of being disabled is morally neutral. But because fatness is deemed by the public as something that you, um, ate your way into, there are "quote unquote" reasons of lack of discipline, evilness, whatever it is that you are in. This state makes it easy for the public to mock people who are fat and who have any sort of subsequent illness, or if anything go wrong with their body, it's always put on the fatness, including in the doctor's offices. Of people who should know better.
