So I made a post about a Thai woman who cooks and sells Jollof rice in Owerri and how she was crushing it, right? That post went far, but the comment section was disappointing. You could see people saying, oh, it's because she's from Thailand. It's because she's a white woman. People don't like patronizing their own. Nigerians likes doing this. Nigerians likes doing that. Now, before I comment on this, let me share a story with you guys. So I wanted to do a birthday for my mom and I wanted it to be, you know, a fine dining setting. My personal preference is Nigerian food. So I went to a Nigerian restaurant, a popular one. When I got there, I told the receptionist what I wanted to do, and then she referred me to the manager. We got to the manager's office, and she was like, oh, I don't know the price of this stuff. Let's go to the restaurant. I'll go there that she would join me there. Mind you, I was with my four-year-old son. So I got to the restaurant and they gave me the price list. I was talking about budget and all. And for about 30 minutes, I was there. The manager never showed up. We later concluded, and I told them that I will call them once I'm ready to pay. On my way home, I saw Michael Gardens. I said, let me go and check them out. If you know Michael Gardens, you know Michael Gardens. I got there, I met one of their waitresses. I told her why I was here. And she said, okay, hold on, let her call her manager. Lo and behold, it was the white man. His name was Chappell or something, right? And he was warm. He was welcoming. He showed me the menu. He gave me ideas of things that I can do and things I should not do. And although the budget was slightly higher than the other place, I see figured that way to make it within budget. And as we are there talking, I saw the waitress with ice cream and juice. They gave my son the ice cream and the juice. I was like, okay, how much is it? They said, don't worry, it's on the house. Ah! So I was like, okay, I'll tell you, oh, I should make reservations and all. He said, don't worry, I will get back to you because it's not me that makes food decisions in the house. It's my wife that does it. But in my mind, I already know that I want to use Michael Gardens because of the hospitality. When I go home, I told my wife exactly what happened. And she chose Michael Gardens. Maybe because they gave her son ice cream or something. But the service was excellent. One thing Nigerian businesses lack is excellent customer service and experience. They feel like they are doing you a favor. You know, we are proud people. So when people are coming to buy from us, we still carry that bad character into the business setting. You'll be hearing things like, even though because that for day here, you'll be talking to me like I'm not a customer. The same quality you collected today, we not be the same quality you collect tomorrow. But you see these foreigners, very loyal, very humble. They want to listen to you, they want to know how they can help you. So let's improve our customer experience. Let's improve our customer service. And please, please, please, that woman, that Thai woman, she's our wife. We men, we treat our wives well. And please, please, please, take out the knowledge from this video. Customer experience is key. I hope this video helps you.
