I started bringing a sweater everywhere, and it changed my life. Let me explain. So it is summertime in Houston, Texas, and it is so hot outside, but it is so cold everywhere we go. And I would never bring a sweater because I'm gonna tough it out. I don't. It doesn't matter if I'm cold. I'm gonna freeze. I'll be okay. Why bring a sweater? I don't wanna appear weak to other people. Well, guess what, I was teaching myself the entire time that my needs, I have to ignore them. I don't come first. It's okay for me to be uncomfortable. It's okay for me to suffer. All in this weird, weird, weird thing that I thought was, I'm tough and I should tough it out. And just be freezing in a restaurant the whole time? I would sit through the dinner shivering and be uncomfortable. But at least I was showing other people that I don't need to walk around with a sweater. We will sit there and to show others that we can live through discomfort, we will not make ourselves comfortable. And we will abandon our own needs slowly and do it with little things over and over again until we become people that don't. We don't ask for anything, and then other people don't give us anything because we don't need anything.
