today we're partnering with our childhood beloved favorite SPAM® Brand to show you guys how to make rolled SPAM® musubi. Very easy to make, you don't need any molds and it's something we grew up eating and still love as adults. And it's a great way to celebrate Musubi Day. So my mom likes to puncture the SPAM® can so it comes out easily. And then she also likes to use a slicer to get these beautiful even slices. From there, you're just going to cut it through four lines to make four vertical strips. It'll be about half-inch wide and it'll be one stick per roll. She'll quickly blanch it in hot water, then make the SPAM® slices crispy. Spray just a little bit of oil to help crisp it up and just flip around so that both sides are crispy. Then we're going to caramelize and flavor the SPAM® sticks with the sauce. It's just mirin, fish sauce, and sugar. Quickly coat the SPAM® sticks and be quick and remove from the heat. Don't do it for too long. It's okay to leave on gas stove (off heat). Alright, so in a smaller pan, we're going to make some egg ribbons by making discs. This is seasoned with a little bit of sugar and salt. Make sure to pop the little bubbles to make it smooth and then flip. And just repeat this with four eggs. Once it's cooked, we're going to season with a little bit of sushi seasoning and sesame oil. Sushi seasoning has vinegar and other seasonings in it, and that tang and acidity helps balance the richness of SPAM® products. We got to add furikake into the rice, and this adds umami and some crunch. Alright, so everything is individually seasoned. Now we just got to assemble. So this is roasted seaweed, unseasoned. And you're just going to make squares with it by simply folding and cutting with a knife. And now we can assemble. You're just going to grab a very small layer of rice. You don't want to do too much because you want to make sure everything is balanced. People often add a little too much rice in the beginning. So just make sure you start thin and then simply roll. And that's it. Repeat and you'll get about 30 to 33 rolls. This is an appetizing small bite type of food. We like to cut it in half and dip it in more furikake for more crunch and flavor. And it is just, it's just so good. Pick up SPAM® at your local Walmart and try musubi your way.
