Almost always Except for MIT You know, MIT is unique in this regard, actually So the New York Times had this really interesting that came out a few weeks ago where they plotted the average acceptance rate of students to these colleges compared to their income levels And if you look at every single school in the Ivy League, what you see is actually a big bump at the low end, It was an advantage for being low income And then a huge dip for the entire middle class going all the way up to the 90th percentile of income So it is a disadvantage If your parents are in the top 10% of income earners you have a massive disadvantage in the Ivy League admissions process And then if you go from the top 10% to the top 0.1%, it shoots up Literally shoots all the way to the moon, right? And why is that, right? In large part, it's because when you apply to these and this is the part they don't like, they say they're need blind, but on your application, there will be a question that asks you point blank, do you need financial aid, yes or no? And that is on the admission application, not your financial aid, it is on your admissions application And if you guys don't believe me, go open up your laptop and go see for yourself, They ask, do you need financial aid because if you say no to that question, you are effectively communicating to them I can pay $100,000 a year out of pocket Good for business Great for business 25% of the budget of an Ivy League school comes from
