YOU NEED TO APPLY ED/EA TO COLLEGE

If you're a rising high school senior and you're not aware of this college admissions trend, it could vastly impact your trajectory of your college admissions journey and I'm going to explain it to you right now. Early decision and early action is becoming an increasingly popular option for high school students not just in the US, but across the world. And the reason this impacts you is because a lot of colleges will fill from anywhere from 50% to 70% of their incoming class with applicants who applied in the early action or early decision round. That's a lot of students and considering that regular decision polls are often way larger, that makes it much more competitive if you do not decide to apply early action or early decision. We know that early action and early decision is becoming more popular because a lot of students are applying through these two decision options. But also because some schools are even adding early round such as USC and for the incoming fall 2027 class. Now when I was in my junior year of high school and deciding, you know, where I wanted to apply, and if I wanted to apply early anywhere, I didn't do any early application options because frankly, I didn't know if I could afford college and commit to a financial aid package if I got into a school early. So that is one thing that you do need to consider. Do you have the resources to commit to a financial aid package if you got into your dream school? Regardless of how much money you got. If not, I would urge you to apply early action places, just to kind of have that security of knowing that you got in somewhere and not limit yourself when it comes to regular decision. So many schools these days offer early action. And if there is one school that you really want to apply to and they offer a single choice early action or restrictive early action, like Stanford or Princeton, I recommend that you do that. But of course, this means that you need to start your college applications now. The deadlines are in November. Either way, if you are a rising high school senior, I do want you to highly consider applying to somewhere early, just to maximize your chances and not limit yourself when it comes to regular decision.
