Ex-Citadel quant talks compensation as a 21-year-old

like we're hurting other places like I felt satisfied with the offer. Do you remember the quant research offer at Citadel? Like what the salary was there? That one I do remember. Uh, that one was like 68,000, I believe. Oh, that's for the summer. And what does that translate to in terms of like an hourly rate? Uh, that's actually quite doable. It was over 11 weeks. So I guess that you can do the math. Um, it was like 100, 154. Okay. $154 an hour. And you were what, age 21? Uh, yeah. So how did that feel at age 21 to get an offer at Citadel that paid you $154 an hour? Yeah. I felt good. Um, yeah, I don't have much more to say. Yeah. It was good. What would someone earn if they, you know, went back to Citadel full time and then, you know, what would the career progression be at the company like Citadel be salary-wise? Depends on the team. Um, in my case, since I was doing quant research, um, back in my year, the standard new grad offer was 550k TC. Nowadays, there's like some inflation, so it's probably like 600, 650k. Um, but yeah, I mean, good. Yeah.
