In this video, you’ll see two Boerboels react very differently to my approaching neighbor. Gronk shows the aloof, confident and discerning temperament described in the Boerboel breed standard. GG, on the other hand, happily seeks out affection. This is a good example of how personalities can vary, even within the same breed. A stable guardian shouldn’t feel the need to greet every stranger, but they also shouldn’t react to every person they see. They should be able to assess a situation, recognize when there’s no threat and confidently disengage.
