Every great story requires the main character to suffer. Why? Because humans are designed to grow not by avoiding hardship, but THROUGH it. Think about it- every good thing in your life came on the other side of a period of challenge, uncertainty, or struggle, right? Every great relationship, season of growth, victory, or breakthrough happened because you overcame obstacles. Your brain literally requires you to do things you don't want to do in order to wire in resilience, grit, and willpower. That's the way your anterior mid-cingulate cortex works. And it's what the Bible says in Romans 5:3-4 as well: Suffering produces endurance, endurance produces character, and character produces hope. If you're in a hard period right now, don't give up. It's forming the part of your story people will talk about in hushed tones later when they talk about how strong and inspiring you were to them.
