According to reporting by Business Insider, Mark Cuban went on the What It Takes podcast and made a straightforward argument: every employee — from the janitor to the CEO — should get equity in the company they work for. He's not just talking. When he sold Broadcast.com to Yahoo for $4.8 billion in 1999, around 300 employees became millionaires overnight. His framework is simple: whatever percentage of salary a CEO gets in stock, every employee gets the same percentage of theirs. "That will change the game," he said. Most companies still reserve equity for the top. Cuban's point is that's exactly the problem.
