I agreed to pay $1050 for my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I signed an agreement to pay $1000 and $50 for a car note back in 2024. Yes friend, you heard what I said. $1000 and $50 a month. My interest rate was a 23%. And that's not including the $200 insurance I would have to pay every single month. Y'all, I was so happy to finally get a car in my name. Because as I was growing up, I wasn't serious about my credit. And I had my car, and other people's names. What made it even worse? I was at the car dealership for over seven hours. And they told me my car note would have been $1050. I was like, shit, fuck it, I got to approve. But before we left the dealership, they told me that I can pay $950 a month and I can come back to them in three months to refinance. Now, I personally feel like that's some bullshit. But I was so happy to get a car, I didn't care at the time. I said all this to say, these car dealerships will fuck over you if you let them. I don't care how much money I make. I can afford to pay $1000 a month for no fucking car. That $1000 is going to lose value once I drive out the car.
