Everybody thinks I stopped doing women’s hair because I didn’t like it… That wasn’t it at all. Women’s hair is actually what built my business, and I’ll always be grateful for that season. It taught me my craft, helped me build my clientele, and got me to where I am today. But after a while, I had to be honest with myself. An 8-hour appointment meant I could only help one client that day. 😭 One style… one client… one set of baby hairs… and my whole day was GONE. Meanwhile, I realized I could provide the same luxury experience, create high-quality work, and serve multiple clients in a day by focusing on men’s braids. It wasn’t about working less it was about working smarter. And let’s be real… braiders put in some of the most time-consuming work in the beauty industry. We spend hours sectioning, braiding, detailing, and perfecting a style that can last for weeks, yet people still question the price. That shift completely changed my business, my schedule, and honestly… my quality of life. No regrets. (Okay… maybe I miss swooping baby hairs every now and then. 😂) What’s one career decision you’ve made that completely changed everything for you?
