There was a time when I was doing box braids for hours, taking every type of client, and trying to be good at everything because I hadn’t fully figured out what direction I wanted my business to go. Once I became intentional, focused on my specialty, and started treating my talent like a real business, everything began to shift. My clientele became more aligned, my confidence grew, my schedule became more manageable, and the opportunities started getting bigger than anything I originally imagined. Recently, I had the opportunity to braid World Cup players and later watch them compete in another city. That moment reminded me that choosing a niche didn’t limit me it helped make room for the right opportunities. To every braider still trying to figure out their lane: you do not have to offer everything to build a successful business.
