These things send you to hell.

Two things that'll send you directly to hell. Pride and idolatry. Pride is not a healthy self-image. Pride is an exalted self-image. In other words, it's removing God from the center of the universe and placing God Almighty me right at the center. That is to walk away, to run away as fast as you can from God. For you are crowning yourself as God, my God, my idol. I can worship my pleasure. I can worship my intellect. I can worship my money. I can worship my career. I can worship my family. I can worship my artistic or dancing ability. I can worship my athleticism. It's possible for you and for me to create just about anything into an idol. And yet, idolatry separates us from God. For God created you and me to live with him as God, to be caught up in his magnificence, his beauty, his love, his grace, his faithfulness, his goodness. Worship God, not an idol. The third thing would be busyness. Scrutinize letters, remember Wormwood is simply to keep his patient busy. So you'll never have time for God. And you'll end up in hell because of it. And finally, C.S. Lewis says, taking out eternity, eventually you lose yourself and you just become a grumbling mood. That's why in the Old Testament, the number one command that was broken over and over again by the Israelites was a grumbling mood. So check yourself on the grumbling mood, turn it into gratitude to God, and that sends you to heaven.
