HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO HIKE MT FUJI here is exactly how much it cost to overnight hike Mount Fuji so you know exactly what you're signing up for firstly the mandatory climbing permit was 4,000 yen per person PERMITS ¥8,000 $48.67 so 8,000 for the both of us we opted for the quieter less popular Subashiri Trail which I highly recommend this trail does not require reservation however your mountain hut will stay overnight at Taiyako Mountain Hut at the seventh station but I would definitely recommend trying to book a hut at the eighth station so that you are closer to the summit before sunrise our mountain hut cost us 23,364 ¥23,364 $142.73 yen for two people and this is the price without meals because we're trying to save what we can here pricey for just a bed to lay in for four hours okay now you actually have to get to the hike the bus from Gotemba Station to Subashiri fifth station was 2,500 yen TRANSPORTATION ¥5,000 $30.54 this is per person round trip tickets back to Gotemba before the hike we stocked up at 7 11 with onigiri ramen bento candy and water for about ¥3,000 $18.33 this it's gonna be all of our meals including ramen for dinner on the mountain we paid 500 yen for hot water for the ramen which is kind of insane spent another 1500 on extra water bottles WATER ¥2,000 $21.38 of course we had to buy the iconic Fuji hiking stick for 2,000 yen for two and we collected stamps along the trail for another 4,000 yen STICKS & STAMPS ¥6,000 $36.65 each stamp cost around 300 to 500 yen this brings our grand total to 47,364 GRAND TOTAL ¥47,364 $289.33 $144.67/person ¥47,364 $289.33 $144.67/person honestly for one of Japan's most iconic experiences honestly for one of Japan's most iconic experiences but let me know what you think I'll see you tomorrow bye
