After 75 years… we finally did it. 💚❤️ Being in Croke Park with the people I love most in the world, driving down to the homecoming, giving my dad the biggest hug and re-watching the match on the TV last night. I'm still processing Jesus I'm crying writing this 💚❤️ Year after year we filled Croke Park with hope, and year after year we went home with broken hearts. We kept coming back because that’s what Mayo people do. We never stopped believing. Growing up on Achill isn’t just the county you come from… it’s part of who you are. The green and red runs through every village, every family, every conversation. You grow up dreaming of days like this. On Sunday, for the first time, those tears were tears of pure pure happiness. This one is for every player who wore the jersey before this team. For everyone who stood on the terraces, travelled the country, shouted themselves hoarse, and never gave up. For the generations who dreamed of this day but never got to see it. It’s for every Mayo person who had to leave home but never left Mayo behind. No matter where life took you, Mayo is always home… and on Sunday, home came to all of us. It’s also for the next generation, who’ll grow up knowing what it feels like to watch Mayo become All-Ireland champions. Mum was born in 1951, the last year Mayo won Sam. Somehow that makes this even more special to me because she's no longer with us but my god I felt her up on the Davin. To this team… thank you. You gave an entire county, and little places like Achill, a memory we’ll carry for the rest of our lives. Here’s to the past that kept believing, the present that made history, and the future that will never have to wait 75 years to see Mayo lift Sam.
