how i made $10k from one trip (doing it again) I made $10k from one trip this summer try and do because I'm going So come with me pitched those brands before the trip you're probably wondering start with this foremost you gotta have the systems I start pitching around a month to two months in advance because creator rosters for brands fill fast and you really want the main platform I use is on Bento it's actually made for UGC creators the contacts of brands create your own pitch and send them out I always schedule mine it's super nice and easy to use and I'll typically travel industry or brands that really love high end visuals any type of backdrop because Thailand is absolutely gorgeous or anything that fits into a high end luxury filmscape I send a pitch that looks a little and then I follow up within a week or two and continue pushing that volume it usually takes a while and that's okay that's super normal I often send some type of mood board and a list of different content ideas and I basically pitch it that these brands would not be able to get these visuals or concepts anywhere else and this is a super unique opportunity what we can do

Last winter @delaneyryanugc and I decided to test a theory. Instead of waiting for travel opportunities to magically land in my inbox, I wondered... what if I built the opportunities before I ever packed my suitcase? So I started pitching. That one decision turned into over $10,000 in brand deals from a single trip. Now I'm getting ready for Thailand, and I'm starting the whole process over again. One thing I think people underestimate about travel UGC is that the content isn't the hardest part. The planning is. And the biggest thing that makes this manageable is having a system. I use @bento to find brand contacts, organize my outreach, schedule my pitches, and keep track of follow-ups. Otherwise I'd lose my mind trying to remember who I've emailed. Then I get really intentional about who I'm pitching. I'm not sending the same email to 500 random brands. I'm looking for companies that would actually benefit from being in Thailand. Luxury brands. Travel brands. Resorts. Outdoor brands. Skincare. Coffee. Fashion.  Anything where beautiful scenery actually makes the content stronger. Then I ask myself one question: "Could this brand get these visuals anywhere else?" Because that's the value. They can hire someone to film in their living room tomorrow. They can't easily get cinematic content on tropical beaches, luxury resorts, jungle cafés, temples, and island sunsets. When I pitch, I usually include a few concept ideas or a mood board so they don't have to imagine what the content could look like. I want them to immediately picture their product in that environment. And then... I wait. I follow up. I send more pitches. I hear "no." I hear nothing. Then a few "yes" emails start rolling in. That's normal. The people you see creating travel content didn't necessarily get lucky. Most of them are sending way more pitches than you'd ever guess. So if you're pitching for a trip and nobody has replied yet, don't take it as a sign to stop. It usually just means you're still in the middle of the process. Anyway...
