Cleaning business marketing is dead and it's because every single cleaning business is marketing the exact same way. I'm Sidi, a six-figure cleaning business owner and what I've learned over the past few years that you can't keep marketing the same way that you've been marketing for the past 10 years, let's say 2026. In 2026, every customer responds a little bit differently to marketing. And the most common thing you'll see from cleaning businesses is before pictures and videos. They are great, but let's think about it, how these before and afters differentiate our business from every other cleaning business? When every business is doing the exact same thing is before afters. When businesses are doing the exact same thing is before and afters. Reframing the way you differentiate yourself is by targeting your exact client. So ask yourself, is your exact clientele actually looking for before and afters? For me, they're not. And I've learned this because I've seen it based off of the leads that I got. And clients that try to book with me because of my before and afters, not the goal. The goal is targeting the people that want the feeling of a clean home. Let me give you an example. We're going to talk about moms, they're busy, they're taking care of their kids, they're cleaning, they're cooking. How do I specifically target them? I'm going to help them understand how we can take cleaning off of their plate. So they have more time for their kids, their cooking, their husband or their husbands, or even time for themselves. That right there is me speaking directly to my target client, which are moms. Not just posting before and afters that doesn't really grab their attention. Here's why before and afters typically don't work well. Potential customers who are looking for before and afters are the ones who are going to be very, very picky about the job when you walk into their house. Those people are usually price shoppers. Since every other business is posting before and afters, you're going to find every single one of those posts talk to every single one of those businesses, the best price. Just because every is posting the exact same thing. The trap right there. When you post before and afters, you're attracting people who are price shopping. To put it in simple terms, they're looking for the best results at the lowest price. So when you speak to the feeling, giving a mom her time back, someone paying for the outcome, not just comparing photos or videos. That's the difference between a price shopper and an actual client. So if you want your cleaning business to be different, talk to your exact client, speak to that client, solve their problem right away. Follow me for more cleaning business content.
