much I pay my cleaning teams versus how much I keep as the business owner. My cleaning company uses cleaning contractors to run our jobs. We don't pay by the hour, we pay by the job, so a flat rate. That means that our cleaners know exactly how much they're making before they even walk into a job. This is how the split works. It's 60/40. We take 60%, our cleaners take 40%. Some of that number sounds off, let me actually walk you through why. Number one, that's overhead. That 60% isn't profit sitting around, I'm putting in my pocket. That's marketing, insurance, supplies, software, admin, client acquisition, and now my employees. So all the overhead it takes to actually keep the pipeline coming, jobs coming in, and to keep the business running. Don't about clients, finding the clients, quoting the jobs, handling a complaint or to pay to run ads. That's what 60% covers. Here's what people usually miss. If you flip that split, pay your cleaners more, less as the owner, you're not being generous, you're being unsustainable. Your business is not gonna last long. You still have the same overhead, not lower because you decided to pay more money. So now you're running thinner margins, which means the first slow month that you have, no first show or that first refund that you have, you're gonna be in the red. You're gonna be losing money. And that's exactly why so many cleaning businesses don't make it past year one. They usually price themselves and their split have overhead thinking, they're not usually thinking about that other side. The overhead comes for them anyway. So this split isn't really about the percentages. It's really about how much your business that you're charging your clients as a business owner, that make sure that your cleaners are getting paid well and be able to pay your bills, but also be able to take profit, put back into the business and have a sustainable, profitable business for a very, very long time. Keep paying your cleaners, are happy to run a business to sustain a long, long time. Follow me for more business content.
